The Palestinian struggle is a struggle against settler colonialism, US imperialism, and more specifically a struggle against zionism, a form of European white supremacy. The struggle for Palestinian liberation like all aspects of Palestinian life and history is rooted in the historic land of Palestine, from the river to the sea.
The struggle for liberation is, at its core, a struggle to liberate all our historic land. "Human rights"-- in the absence of liberated land -- are meaningless. As Malcolm X said, "Land is the basis of all independence. Land is the basis of freedom, justice, and equality."
As Palestinians who support the struggle for liberation of our land and people, we support the Palestinian resistance in all its forms. Colonialism is war and colonizers do not have the right to unilateral war. We believe in the right to resist by any means necessary.
We created this website to share literature, art, music, and photography that conveys our support for Palestinian resistance. Too often, the art and literature of colonized people in the English language forefronts stories of oppression and trauma. Though it is important for people to understand what this oppression has meant for our families and community, it is not enough. We want the resistance and sumud ("steadfastness") of our people to be centered in our stories, art, and music.
This website was created in this spirit. We have started with just a few stories, poems, visual art pieces, and music, but we want the website to grow. Please send us your poems, stories, art, music, and photographs. We will center Palestinian voices and work but also welcome entries that support the spirit and intention of the website. Please note, support of resistance in the virtual world is not a substitute for the hard work needed to disrupt the business of oppression in the physical world. Art and literature help to sustain the revolutionary spirit needed to do that hard work.
We look forward to hearing from you.
In solidarity and struggle for a liberated Palestine from the river to the sea.
